Welcome
to math! I think math is fun, exciting and interesting. We will do
the usual math things, but we will also use calculators every day, go
to the computer lab and use neat programs like Excel and Geometers
Sketchpad, and do fun, interesting and educational projects. Some
classes will research careeers and the math needed, some will use
digital cameras to find geometric shapes in the world around us, and
some will research data to create excel graphs.
Events and Announcements The high school Algebra 1/2 and Algebra 1B classes are researching a career
and will have a power point due near the end of third quarter.
The junior high classes are doing research involving data from the internet and will soon use excel to create
graphs.
The field trip to the Engineering Open House on the U of I campus was a big hit with the students and a great opportunity
for them.
The
field trip with the Industrial Tech classes to the Construction Trades
EXpo in Charleston is Thursday, March 19. After the Trades EXpo, we
will visit the Corvette Museum in Effingham for a tour of the museum
and the production and business areas of Mid America Motorworks. We
are looking forward to that trip.
