7th Grade Science
Welcome to junior high 7th graders! The science curriculum this year consists of one semester of physical science with Mr. Findley and one semester of life science with me. In life science we will be learning basic concepts of life in order to better understand the world around us.
8th Grade Science
The first big project for the 8th graders is the ever-popular insect collection that is part of our study of life science. We continue learning about the living world by studying cells, monerans, protists, fungi, plants and animals. And yes...there is a dissection.
Biology I
Test: Modern Biology. This course is open to students in grades 10-12. It is a typical first year biology course.
Biology II
Biology II is a taught for dual credit through Lake Land College. It is a four credit course (BIO 100) that is readily transferable to most universities. The course is open to juniors and seniors who have successfully completed first year biology.
Environmental Biology
This course is the new addition to the science curriculum. It is taught for dual credit through Lake Land College. It is a four credit course (BIO 130). Students should check with prospective colleges about how it will transfer. The course is open to juniors and seniors who have successfully completed first year biology.
Anatomy and Physiology
Open to juniors and seniors who have completed Biology I. The focus of the course is structure and function of human anatomy. Several dissections are completed. |
