A school librarian is a partner in the education process.  He or she plays the role of information and media expert and a consultant to teachers and students.  A librarian should know his or her discipline to benefit the people being served.  He or she can influence the entire climate of the school.  A good librarian should have unlimited energy and a desire to make a difference in the lives of the patrons he or she serves.  A school library media specialist should strive to produce critical-literate citizens and life-long learners.
