Hi, I'm Mrs. Palmer
|
I
am a 1981 graduate from Eastern Illinois University. I am currently in
my 31st year of teaching. I have taught 20 years in fourth grade and
now eleven years in fifth grade. My favorite subject to teach is
science. I am lucky enough to be able to teach both fifth and sixth
grade science. Mrs. Minott loves English and teaches both grades of it.
In
the past I have coached volleyball, track, and girls basketball. I am
happy to say that after twenty-five years I am now a full time
teacher. Three years ago I had taken on the responsibility of being
the E2T2 lead teacher for the Shiloh District. This brings with it
extra responsibility and work. I think the students will really enjoy
the new technology that will be coming their way.
My
husband and I now make our home in Mount Zion, Illinois. We moved after 26 years of living in Newman. My husband works at the
Illinois State Board of Education as the lead Consultant of the Reading
Assessment for the State of Illinois. We have three children. Valorie
graduated from Butler University in 2006 and lives with her husband in Jersey City, New Jersey. She is an accountant in Jersey City and her husband
James is a lawyer. My son, Douglas, is an electrical engineer in Mount Vernon, Illinois. My other son, Drue, has a degree in Public
Relations from SIU at Edwardsville. He is currently going back to
school for a degree in Special Education.
