Story Time
In honor of Dr. Seuss' 106th birthday, we read "The Sneeches". Why would someone with a star on his belly be nasty to someone without "one upon thars?"
This story helped us learn that it's what's on the inside of a person that matters, not what's on the outside. Not only was Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2, it was also "Read Across America Day". To celebrate, every child who read a book with his or her family received a reading certificate. A big thanks to Josie for bringing a delicious snack for us to enjoy! | |

"United We Read! United We Care!"
Scholastic Book Clubs is sponsoring a reading challenge for students across the country to help donate 250,000 books to military families. S.H.I.P. has a reading poster with 50 stars to fill out and return to Scholastic to show our support. On March 1, children started a reading log to keep track of the books they read with their families throughout the month. So far, we already have 24 stars on our poster! Keep reading!!
Workshop
Next week, we will meet on Thursday, March 11 for our "Save Money on Your Meals" Workshop. Misty Appleby of Newman will be sharing with us how she saves at least $100 each month on her grocery bill.
